When God pushes you past comfort
There are seasons when God draws a line and makes it clear that remaining comfortable is no longer an option. Faith must make a choice. Will we stay where life feels safe, or will we trust Him enough to move forward?
Matthew 28 brings us to one of those moments. The disciples stood before the risen Jesus. They worshiped Him, yet Scripture honestly tells us that some still doubted. Jesus did not wait for them to feel completely confident before giving them the mission.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19 ESV
Jesus pushed them beyond what was familiar. Their calling would take them away from predictable routines and into places where obedience would cost them something. They were not told to protect their comfort. They were commanded to go, make disciples, baptize believers, and teach people to obey everything Christ had commanded.
The Great Commission was never reserved for fearless people. It was entrusted to believers who worshiped, struggled, doubted, and still obeyed.
God often calls us forward before we feel ready. He may ask us to serve, speak, lead, give, forgive, or step into something we cannot control. Faith does not require us to understand every detail. It requires us to trust the One giving the command.
