Jesus is everything
Life has a way of reminding us how little control we actually possess. Our past can follow us, present struggles can overwhelm us, and fear of the future can quietly take over. Matthew 9 points us beyond ourselves to the One who remains greater than it all.
Two blind men followed Jesus, crying out for mercy. They could not see Him, but they believed He was the promised Son of David. When Jesus asked whether they believed He was able to heal them, they answered yes. He touched their eyes, and their sight was restored.
Immediately afterward, a demon-oppressed man who could not speak was brought to Jesus. Christ cast out the demon, the man spoke, and the crowd marveled because nothing like this had ever been seen in Israel.
These were different people carrying different forms of suffering, but Jesus was sufficient for each one.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 ESV
The Jesus who showed compassion, confronted darkness, and restored broken lives has not changed. He is greater than your past, present in your struggle, and already Lord over the future you cannot see.
That does not mean believers are promised an easy life or an immediate answer to every prayer. It means Christ remains faithful when everything else feels uncertain. Our hope is not built on perfect circumstances. It is built on Jesus.

When life becomes overwhelming, we do not need a shallow slogan or temporary distraction. We need to remember who Jesus is. He is faithful. He is present. He is enough. Jesus is everything.
