You’re not just saved. You’re known.
It is possible to sit in church, know Christian language, and still wonder whether God truly sees you. John 10 answers that fear with something deeper than religious reassurance. Jesus says His people are personally known by Him.
While surrounded by opposition, Jesus drew a clear line between those demanding more proof and those who belonged to Him:
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27 ESV
Jesus did not say His sheep merely know information about Him. They hear His voice, are known by Him, and follow where He leads. Christianity is not simply accepting a set of beliefs. It is belonging to the living Christ.
You are not just seen in a crowd. You are known by God.
Galatians 4:9 speaks of believers coming to know God, “or rather to be known by God.” That changes everything. Your identity is not rooted in your reputation, failures, achievements, or the opinions of others. It begins with the God who knows you completely and still calls you His own.
Being known by Christ also carries a calling. Second Timothy 1:9 reminds us that God saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works, but because of His own purpose and grace.
Grace does not leave us where it found us. The Shepherd calls, and His sheep follow.
