Overview
A pastor shaped by the mission field
Before coming to Mountain Valley Chapel, Pastor Chris served through Teen Challenge and spent years preaching, leading, and doing missionary work in Brazil, Kenya, and Pakistan.
Those experiences placed him alongside people whose struggles could not be solved by empty religion or easy answers. They taught him to trust the power of the gospel, preach Scripture plainly, and never separate evangelism from discipleship.
In 2011, Pastor Chris co-founded Lay Me Down Ministry with Jason Kollash and Thomas Jennings. What began as a willingness to go wherever God opened the door became years of ministry across cultures, churches, recovery programs, and communities.

Local Church Ministry
Pastor Chris did not learn ministry from a classroom alone. Much of what formed him was learned while serving people in crisis, adjusting to unfamiliar cultures, leading through difficult seasons, and discovering that calling does not remove the need for endurance.
Those years left him with little interest in Christianity that exists only in words. His preaching calls people to repent, believe the gospel, grow in the Word, and follow Jesus when obedience becomes costly.
SERVING MOUNTAIN VALLEY CHAPEL
Pastor Chris has served as Lead Pastor of Mountain Valley Chapel since October 2025. The church is located in Gold Bar, Washington, and is part of Open Bible Churches.
After several difficult years without a permanent pastor, Mountain Valley Chapel entered a new season of rebuilding. Pastor Chris’s work there includes preaching, discipleship, developing leaders, strengthening ministries, and reaching the surrounding community.
Mountain Valley Chapel is his primary ministry assignment and the church family he has been called to shepherd in this season.
THE HEART BEHIND IT
TRUTH AND COMPASSION BELONG TOGETHER
Pastor Chris believes ministry should carry both conviction and compassion.
The church does not need more polished performance. It needs faithful preaching, spiritual courage, deep discipleship, and leaders who are willing to shepherd people with truth and love.
At the center of it all is Jesus, the authority of Scripture, the health of the local church, and the call to make disciples who live surrendered lives.
