A Message to Christians: What Are You Waiting For?
Love is one of the most commonly used words in the world, but it is also one of the most misunderstood. We often treat love like a feeling that comes and goes depending on our mood, circumstances, or how another person treats us. Biblical love is something far deeper.
Love is a choice.
“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” 1 John 3:18, ESV
Jesus did not simply speak about love. He demonstrated it through sacrifice. He loved people who rejected Him, served people who could give Him nothing in return, and willingly laid down His life for sinners. The cross shows us that real love is not built around convenience or emotion. It acts.
Christians are called to love the same way. That means forgiving when we would rather hold onto the offense. It means serving when nobody is watching, showing compassion when it costs us something, and choosing obedience even when our emotions have not caught up.
The world has heard enough empty Christian language. People need to see a faith that becomes visible through the way we live. Love is not proven by what we claim. It is proven by how we treat people, especially those who are difficult to love.
We cannot continue waiting for the perfect moment, the right feeling, or someone else to take the first step. God has already shown us what love looks like through Jesus Christ. Now we must decide whether we will follow His example.
