Never Lose Faith: Faith to Speak and Endure for God’s Glory
Hebrews 11 is filled with victories. Kingdoms were conquered, promises were obtained, lions’ mouths were shut, and the weak were made strong. But the chapter does not end with miracles. It also remembers believers who suffered, were rejected, and died without receiving earthly deliverance.
“Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life.” Hebrews 11:35, ESV
Biblical faith is not proven only when the battle turns in our favor. Sometimes faith produces victory over the enemy. Other times, it gives us strength to remain faithful while suffering continues.
These men and women refused to compromise for comfort. They spoke the truth when silence would have protected them. They endured persecution without abandoning God. The world treated them as worthless, yet Scripture says the world was not worthy of them.
That destroys the idea that faith always guarantees health, success, safety, or an easy life. Some people in Hebrews 11 escaped the sword. Others were killed by it. Both groups are remembered for faith because both trusted God with the outcome.
Faith speaks the truth even when it costs something. Faith endures hardship without demanding an earthly reward. Faith glorifies God by trusting that His eternal purpose is greater than what we can see right now.
We may never face the persecution described in this passage, but every believer will be pressured to compromise. The question is whether we will remain faithful when obedience costs us approval, comfort, opportunity, or security.
Never lose faith. God has not abandoned you because the trial continues. He sees every act of obedience, every costly stand, and every moment you refuse to turn back.
