When God Passes By: Salvation Through Christ Alone
Many people expected Jesus to establish an earthly kingdom, defeat their enemies, and restore Israel’s national strength. They wanted a Messiah who would fit their expectations. But Jesus came to accomplish something far greater. He came to save sinners and build a Church that the gates of hell would never overcome.
The gospel is not a message about earning our way into God’s presence. Salvation does not come through religious effort, personal goodness, family history, or church attendance. It comes only through faith in Jesus Christ.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8, ESV
Grace destroys every attempt to boast. We cannot stand before God and point to our accomplishments. Jesus lived the life we could not live, died the death we deserved, and rose again in victory. Salvation is His work from beginning to end.
That truth also changes how believers live. Those who are in Christ no longer stand condemned. Our past does not have the final word. Sin may accuse us, people may remember our failures, and the enemy may try to drag us back into shame, but the verdict of heaven has already been declared.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).
When God moves, He does not always meet our expectations, but He always accomplishes His purpose. The question is whether we will recognize what He is doing and respond through genuine faith.
