Some wounds cannot be seen from the outside.

A person can look strong, keep working, attend church, and say all the right things while quietly carrying pain, confusion, fear, or a deep loss of purpose. But God is not only concerned with what people can see. He wants to transform us from the inside out.

On this episode of Faith and Family Fellowship, I spoke with Dr. John Oti, pastor, author, teacher, transformational coach, and founder of John Oti Logotherapy. We discuss biblical healing, spiritual identity, rediscovering purpose, and what Dr. Oti means when he talks about activating the “inner man.”

The Bible speaks clearly about the inner life.

Paul prayed:

“That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being.”Ephesians 3:16, ESV

Real transformation must reach deeper than outward behavior. We can learn how to hide pain. We can change our surroundings, develop better habits, and convince everyone around us that we are doing fine. But if the inner person remains wounded, confused, or controlled by the past, changing the outside will never be enough.

God wants to reach the heart. That does not mean every emotional or psychological struggle should be treated only as a spiritual issue. There are times when someone needs the care of a licensed counselor, physician, or mental health professional.

John Oti Logotherapy clearly describes itself as a faith-centered, non-clinical practice. It is built around Scripture, prayer, spiritual reflection, and personal transformation rather than clinical diagnosis or medical treatment.

That distinction matters because faith should never be used to shame someone who needs professional care. But professional care should not cause us to ignore the spiritual condition of the heart either.

We are more than our symptoms.

We are more than our worst season.

We are more than what happened to us.

During our conversation, Dr. Oti explains why so many people struggle with identity and purpose. When we allow pain, failure, rejection, or the opinions of others to define us, we begin building our lives on something that was never strong enough to hold us.

Our identity must be rooted in God. Scripture says:

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”Romans 12:2, ESV

Transformation requires more than positive thinking. The mind must be renewed by truth. That means allowing the Word of God to confront the lies we have believed about ourselves, other people, and even God.

Some people believe they are permanently damaged.

Some believe their past has disqualified them.

Some have spent so long surviving that they no longer know what it means to live with purpose.

But our darkest season does not have the authority to write the rest of our story.

Jesus Christ still heals. He still restores. He still calls people out of darkness and into a life of truth, obedience, and purpose.

Dr. Oti’s 12-week program, The Inner Man Activation, is built around helping people address what is happening beneath the surface and begin living from the inside out. That kind of change cannot be reduced to another motivational speech.

It requires honesty.

It requires surrender.

It requires a willingness to let God expose the places we have protected, ignored, or tried to manage through our own strength.

Biblical healing is not pretending the wound never happened. It is refusing to let that wound become your identity. It is bringing what is broken into the light and allowing the truth of God to reshape how you think, live, and move forward. Purpose also becomes clearer when identity is settled.

If we do not know who we are, we will spend our lives chasing approval, comparing ourselves to others, and trying to become whatever the moment demands. But when our identity is rooted in Christ, we no longer have to build a life around proving our worth.

We can begin walking in obedience.

God has not called every person to the same assignment. But He has called every believer to know Him, follow Him, and faithfully use what He has placed in their hands.

You may feel stuck right now.

You may be carrying wounds nobody else knows about.

You may have lost sight of who you are and where your life is going.

But stuck does not have to become permanent. God can renew your mind. God can strengthen your inner being. God can bring truth into the places where pain and deception have been speaking for too long.

Lasting transformation begins when we stop hiding what is happening inside and surrender it to Jesus Christ.
